Rules
1. Five person teams. The teams will be limited to anglers that fish Texas beaches. Kid Clause - Up to two kids 16 years of age or younger may fish with a team. If they catch a shark ON THE TEAM MEMBER'S TACKLE, then the shark counts towards the team's total.
2. Team members must be on good terms with the other team members. Texas Shark Rodeo staff reserves the right to not allow an individual or team to enter the rodeo, as well as reserving the right to disqualify a individual or team for unsportsmanlike conduct or becoming on bad terms with another team or team member. This includes any form of cheating and not turning in the data in a timely manner.
3. Sharks only. Must attempt to release.
4. May fish from beaches, piers, or jetties. Fish caught from boats or kayaks will not be accepted.
5. Entries will require some very detailed information. Angler, team name, species of shark, total length, fork length, date of capture, and location of capture is required to qualify. Additional information such as weather conditions, bait, tide, gender, etc. will help in building the database. Once the website is up and running team captains will log into the site and submit their catches. During the interim of the building of the website team captains can go here to copy and paste the form into an email format for entries.
Email address to send catch submissions while website is being built
6. A picture for sharks over 4' must be submitted to be counted. There must be something in the image to judge scale. Once the website is built there will be a place to upload pictures, during the interim of building the website captains will need to attach the picture when emailing in a catch submission.
7. Each team needs a team captain. Team captains are responsible for keeping track of log books, turning information in, and maintaining communication for the team. Information of catches must be turned in on a regular basis within a reasonable amount of time. A reasonable amount of time is within 30 days.
8. Team mates do not have to fish with their own team to have their fish count towards their team's total points. However, if the rod is handed off DURING the fight, then the fish belongs to the person who lands this fish. Exceptions will be for those handing off the rod for purposes of leadering a shark.
9. No substitutions for a team mate will be allowed after the start date. Additional team members can be added, not to exceed the 5 member team limit, until the cut off date for registering. However, sharks caught that year prior to being added to the team do not count.
